ABOUT ME
I am a highly experienced science teacher with a specialty in chemistry but also able to teach mathematics and integrated science (Biology, Physics and chemistry) at grade 8 and 9. I have consistently posted good grades in all my workstations and students do find my classes captivating as I infuse a lot of technology in my lessons and I am proficient in using smart boards and interactive white boards. I have developed interactive educational material for use in classrooms and taken part in curriculum development with the SMASE (Strengthening of Mathematics and science Education) Program run by the ministry of Education, Science and Technology in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) based at the CEMASTEA institute in Karen.
I have experience in teaching three different systems of education, the national curriculum, The Cambridge IGCSE curriculum and the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.
Apart from my classroom teaching, I have been heavily involved with co-curricular activities as a field hockey coach and player. I have guided the Pangani girls’ school hockey team to a record seven national titles. I served as the head of co-curricular activities at the said institution, a role that saw me coordinating transport and meals for travelling teams and overnight stays. My work at the school, which was full boarding, gave me insights in running boarding facilities
I am also a talented graphics artist and this greatly helps in developing visual aids for learners.
